Italian TG1 News Network has revealed an investigative report showing that Qatar had paid Ashraf Ghani, Marshal Dostum, and Atta Mohammad Noor $110, $ 51, and $61 Million, respectively, not to fight against Taliban fighters.
The Italian state-run network has recently published three documents that indicate the receipt of bribes to the prominent leaders of Afghanistan a month before the collapse of the previous government in Afghanistan.
The document state that Ajmal Ahmadi has received $110 million on behalf of Afghanistan’s former president Ashraf Ghani.
On the other hand, the document revealed that the former first deputy of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council as the special representative of former vice president Marshal Dostum had received $51 million from the Qatar representative in Kabul.
The document praised Dostum’s sincere cooperation in retreating from the northern provinces’ battlefields, such as Fariyab and Jawzjan provinces.
While Mohammad Farhad Azimi, representative of Atta Mohammad Noor and Former governor of Balkh, has received $61 million from Qatar’s representative in Kabul.
The documents also revealed that all three representatives of the former Afghan leaders received money from the Qatar representative after signing the documents on July 7, 2021.
The archive of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that Dr Mutlaq Al- Qahtani was in Kabul and had met with Ashraf Ghani at the Presidential Palace (Arg) on July 7, 2021.
The letters also further highlight that the money was granted to all three prominent leaders to avoid resisting the Taliban fighters.
The documents allegedly show that Ashraf Ghani received money to avoid resistance. In contrast, Dostum and Noor received money from the Qatar government not to fight against the Taliban in Northern Afghanistan.
Former President Ghani and the Qatar government have not yet commented. In contrast, Farahmand, the representative of Marshal Dostum, has firmly rejected the letters and called them baseless documents in his personal Facebook profile. He further clarified that he and Marshal Dostum had not surrendered the country to the Taliban.
On the other hand, Atta Mohammad Noor, on his Tweeters account, called it a conspiracy and said, “I do not doubt that in these conspiracies, along with foreigners, there has been the corrupt republic figures involved.”
He also firmly rejected the authenticity of the documents and claimed that the media fabricated these documents in support of terrorist and militant groups, he said.
However, five weeks after the payment of the amount at the Embassy of Qatar in Kabul, the Taliban entered Kabul without any resistance, and all the said letters fled from Afghanistan.
Filippo Rossi, a renowned Italian journalist who conducted this investigative research, states that this report has been provided based on reviewing documents and talking to reliable sources.
In a speech in the country’s Parliament on August 2, he says Ashraf Ghani called on the people of Afghanistan to fight against the Taliban while districts and provincial
capitals were falling to the Taliban one after another with the least resistance.
According to Mr Rossi, the Afghan security forces were commanded from Kabul not to resist and retreat instead. Before this, other reports existed that certain high-ranking security officials claimed Kabul dictated them not to fight.
In a special interview with Afghan International, General Murad Ali Murad, former Deputy Interior Minister of Defense, said that Afghan National Army was well-trained and militarily equipped; however, due to a grand regional and global conspiracy, the government collapsed, and the Taliban appeared triumphant.
