Anju, who had gone to Pakistan in July to meet her Facebook friend Nasrullah, is expected to return to India next month as she is missing her two children, according to her husband.

The 34-year-old woman, now known as Fatima, has been living in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July. Pakistani media had reported that Anju had converted to Islam and married her Facebook friend, Nasrullah.

Anju’s husband, Nasrullah, revealed, in a phone interview to news agency PTI, that his wife is “mentally disturbed and badly missing” her children.

“She is mentally disturbed and badly missing her children and she had no other option except to go back,” Nasrullah said.

He expressed concern for her mental health and stated that it would be better for her to return to India to be with her children. She has two children, a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son.

Nasrullah explained that once the necessary documentation process is completed in Pakistan, Anju will return to India. He also mentioned that he might accompany her if he is granted a visa.

Anju, a married Indian woman from Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi district, travelled all the way to Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to meet a man she befriended and fell in love with on Facebook.

Anju told her husband Arvind that she was going to Jaipur for a few days. However, her husband later came to know via the media that she had gone across the border.
