CoES warns of the danger of avalanches and rockfalls in Tajikistan

The Committee for Emergency Situations of Tajikistan warns citizens and guests of the country that a high degree of danger of snow avalanches, rockfalls, mudflows and landslides remains on the territory of the republic.

The CoES report notes that, in particular, the danger remains on the sections of the Dushanbe-Khujand, Dushanbe-Rasht, Dushanbe-Sangvor, Dushanbe-Lakhsh, Kulyab-Darvaz, Vanj-Khorog, Khorog-Ishkashim, Khorog-Murghab highways.

The department reported that on March 9 at 07:42 a rockfall was recorded at the 472 km of the Darvaz-Vanj-Rushan highway, in the territory of the village of Shipat of the rural jamoat named after M. Abdulvosiev (GBAO).

At the moment, work is underway to clear the road. There are no casualties or destruction, the committee said in a statement.

The CoES asks citizens these days to observe personal safety measures, to refrain from hiking in the mountains, grazing livestock, collecting crops growing in mountainous areas. Pay special attention to children, do not leave them unattended.

In order to prevent flooding of streets and houses, the CoES also asks the population to clean all ditches and ditches, mudflows passing near their houses.
