The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan arrived in Dushanbe and held talks with his colleague

On March 8, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov arrived in Tajikistan on an official two-day visit, the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.

This visit took place at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

Representatives of the Central Bank, the Ministry of Education, the Agency for Transport and Communications, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other departments of the country also arrived together with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Meredov has already held talks with his Tajik counterpart. The ministers discussed topical issues of Tajik-Turkmen relations in the political, economic, humanitarian and other areas, exchanged views on the interaction of the two countries within the framework of regional and international organizations, the report says.

Particular emphasis was placed on the preparations for the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Dushanbe scheduled for the first half of April 2023.

The heads of foreign affairs agencies also considered preparations for the Fifth Anniversary Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the next meeting of the Council of Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in September 2023 in Dushanbe.

Today, within the framework of the visit, the meeting of the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon is planned.
